About

About

We are Benoît Vauthier and Manu Lerendu, two French cabinetmaker-sculptors based in La Petite-Raon, in the Vosges mountains. Our shared adventure began in 2012, when we met at the Institut Québécois d'Ébénisterie in Canada.

After graduating, we participated in various competitions where our creations won awards, and this strengthened our desire to continue our collaboration under the name of Ben&Manu. Returning to France in 2015, we first established our workshop in Vendée, then in Drôme, before settling in the Vosges region in 2021.

Cabinetmaking has always been a work of furniture refinement. Historically, cabinetmakers covered wood with rare and precious materials to enhance their creations. Today, you can have access to these exotic materials online with just a few clicks, that's why they are losing their exceptional value.

We then have been looking for what, in our eyes, had become the rarest and most precious: time, space, contemplation.

This is how our artistic line was born: to create hand-carved landscapes on utilitarian surfaces. In a world where industrial design tends to standardize and optimize everything, we've chosen a more poetic path. We want our furniture to have character, to invite contemplation and reverie.
